Team India No.1

So, guys It was a mixed season for Team India, where we saw some excellent performances and some heart breaking losses, but it was surely better than any other season we ever had. Team India topped the ICC ODI Rankings, though it was for only some days but it was the best rankings they have ever achieved. And this season we witnessed Team India going Top in the ICC Test Rankings.
We were knocked out of the Champions trophy in the first round, it was heart breaking. We fought well against the Aussies but some close matches that we lost, cost us the series. We saw some great knocks in this series especially that special knock by the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, where he made a brilliant 175, He almost chased down 350 runs target single-handedly.

Team India showed an impressive performance in the 3 match Test series against Sri Lanka except the 1st innings of the 1st Test, 1st Test ended in a draw. It was a great effort by the Indian batsmen in the 2nd innings to save the match. Team India won the last two Tests, and both by an innings. Great performance by the all Indian batsmen especially Virender Sehwag, he almost made his third triple hundred in Tests but unfortunately missed it by 7 runs. After that 2-0 series win, Team India became the No.1 Test team in the ICC Rankings. It is a great achievement, only Australia and South Africa topped this table before India.

There were also two T20 matches against Sri Lanka, it was a mixed performance but it was a great entertainment, series ended in 1-1. Sri Lanka won the first match, superb knock by Sangakkara sealed the match for Sri Lanka. India won the second match, where birthday boy Yuvi and Delhi Daredevil Sehwag showed some excellent exhibition of power hitting.

All three formats of Cricket proved their worth and sent a message that all formats can survive at a same time if they are managed properly.
